2025, June 27 - July 25

Cork – Belfast

~1500 km, 29 days

map

Ireland boasts cycling routes featuring rolling green hills, rugged coastlines, and charming villages. Our journey will follow the renowned Wild Atlantic Way, which stretches along Ireland dramatic western coast and is celebrated for its breathtaking coastal scenery, diverse landscapes. Due to the abundance of fresh seafood available along the route, numerous towns and villages known for their seafood restaurants and local culinary offerings, it is often informally referred to as the Seafood Route.

We will traverse two provinces: Munster and Connacht, visit two islands (Inishmore and Achill), the Black Valley, the Connemara region, the Burren etc. Our adventure begins at Cork city which has good connections to the UK, France, and Spain. We rendez-vous with a group of cyclists from An Oige Cork and begin our journey with a tailwind from the south. There will be a sightseeing day in Cork at the beginning and another on the final day in Belfast (eg, visiting the Harland and Wolff factory where the Titanic was made). Bus services are available in Cork, Belfast and to/from Dublin airports.

The route accommodation is currently being reviewed, along with some of the gpx routing. These will be finalized when confirmed with various sport clubs and when campsites reopen in the springtime.

Go n'eiri an bothar linn go leir!! :-)
