"BaltiCCycle" - the way to discover people and nature of the Baltics!
Its' an unknown region at the Eastern Rim of the Baltic Sea - full of wild nature, mystic places and unknown people... The Baltic cycling associations invite you to participate in the "BaltiCCycle". Cycle together with local people their countries. Or find all information how to cycle the Baltic on your own!
What is it?
It's an international bicycle tour! No, there are four different bicycle tours during July 2002: Along the rough Estonian coast to Riga, the capital of Latvia, from there through the hill lands of western Latvia, in Lithuania through the land of rivers and castles or through the untouched nature of the Russian district of Kaliningrad. We all unite in the beginning of August at the seaport of Klaipeda for the biggest event of the Baltic, the Sea Festival.
Why is it?
1st - its fun! 2nd - its our instrument to propagate the use of the bike - for holidays or for every day life. For you its a wild nature and friendly people you haven't seen yet: Nature reserves, ancient castles and medieval cities, sand dunes, island ... You are both - free to cycle on your own and meet new friends!
How does it work?
Sign up on our homepage and join the BaltiCCycle 2002! By your own bike or by a rented, distances per day 40-70 km. With your friends, in a group or alone. You DON'T have to cycle in a group! Sleep in tents at fixed places, in the morning you'll get the info: Where to go? When shall I be for programme in the national park? Cycle on your own or in small groups – with new or long known friends. You can reach the organisers by mobile phone for technical or medical help. The evenings we pass at the bonfire, with guitar, in the sauna or...
How much?
Fees start at 30 Euro per week (50 % discount for participants from Central and Eastern Europe, 10 % for students, families, pensioners, children up to 10 years for free!)
